NEW DELHI, Jun 19 (NNN-PTI) – A special aircraft, carrying 110 students, evacuated from Iran, landed in Delhi early today, said media reports.
The students landed in Delhi, after travelling continuously for three days. They had earlier been shifted to Armenia, as part of an Indian government-coordinated evacuation effort.
An online report by India Today said, there were more than 4,000 Indian nationals still in Iran, with nearly half of them being students pursuing higher education.
On Jun 15, the Indian Embassy in Tehran issued an advisory, urging Indian nationals and persons of India origin, to “avoid unnecessary movement and stay connected through official channels for updates.”– NNN-PTI
