Man Arrested Over Stabbing Following Crash North Of Sydney

SYDNEY, Jun 19 (NNN-AAP) – A man has been arrested, after a driver was stabbed, following a crash north of Sydney, in the early hours of this morning.

Officers commenced an investigation, after a 40-year-old man with stab wounds attended a police station in Cessnock, about 115 kilometres north of Sydney, the capital city of Australia’s state of New South Wales, about 4:40 a.m. local time today.

A police statement said today that, officers were told that the man was driving on a nearby road when his car collided with a sedan.

Following the collision, a passenger in the sedan allegedly stabbed the 40-year-old man in the leg.

Ambulance paramedics were called to the police station and treated the man before taking him to hospital.

A short time later, police officers were called to reports of a second two-vehicle crash. Officers arrived at the scene and located the sedan that was involved in the earlier incident and arrested a 34-year-old man.

He was taken to a local hospital under police guard.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.– NNN-AAP
