CARACAS, June 18 (NNN-XINHUA) — A flight carrying another 135 Venezuelan migrants deported from the United States landed Tuesday in the capital Caracas, the Interior, Justice and Peace Ministry confirmed.

According to a ministry statement, the repatriated migrants returned aboard a US-registered aircraft from the southern US state of Texas, after going through standard arrival process, including an interview to “review their case.”

“They then receive medical attention from government institutions” before being “transferred to their homes by security forces,” the ministry said.

Since February, more than 5,600 Venezuelan migrants have been returned to the South American country, which has a program in place called Plan Vuelta a la Patria to help returnees reintegrate into local society, according to official data.

“The Venezuelan government reiterates its commitment to the protection and well-being of its citizens, facilitating their return and ensuring they receive the necessary care upon arrival in the country,” the ministry said. — NNN-XINHUA
