JERUSALEM, June 27 (NNN-MA’AN) – Israeli former Prime Minister, Ehud Barak, announced on Wednesday that, he is returning to politics and forming a new party, to “defeat” incumbent Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in Israel’s upcoming elections.
Barak told a press conference in Tel Aviv that, Netanyahu’s leadership “must be toppled,” and accused Netanyahu of dragging Israel to new elections.
Barak, 77, served as the prime minister between 1999 and 2001. He also served as Netanyahu’s defence minister, before retiring from politics in 2013.
