SYDNEY, Jun 4 (NNN-AAP) – A man has been hospitalised, after being assaulted by a group of armed home invaders, in western Sydney, in Australia’s state of New South Wales (NSW).
Australia’s Seven Network’s broadcast news service 7NEWS reported today that, emergency services were called to reports of a break-in at a home in Werrington Downs, 47 km west of central Sydney, shortly after 1:20 a.m. local time yesterday.
Police arrived at the home and found a 55-year-old male resident with injuries. He was treated at the scene by ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital.
Officers were told that a group of three unknown men, armed with a machete and a hammer, attempted to force entry into the home before assaulting the 55-year-old man. The group then fled the scene.
A crime scene has been established and police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
It comes after a teenage boy was hospitalised in Apr, with a slash wound to his left hand sustained when he was assaulted by a group of three men, armed with a machete, who tried to force their way into his home, in the neighbouring suburb of Werrington County.– NNN-AAP
