YANGON, May 31 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar police seized over 1.99 million stimulant tablets and more than 134.2 kg of heroin, in central Myanmar, the state-owned daily, Myanma Alinn, reported, today.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotic police intercepted two vehicles near a village in Lewe township, Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, on May 20, and confiscated the narcotics, the report said.
Six suspects on board the two vehicles were arrested, and another suspect in connection with the case was arrested on May 21, the report said.
The suspects have been charged in accordance with the country’s laws, and further investigations are underway, the report added.– NNN-MNA
