622 Killed, 1,704 Injured In Road Accidents In Myanmar In Jan-Apr

YANGON, May 31 (NNN-MNA) – A total of 622 people were killed and 1,704 others injured, in 1,148 road accidents in Myanmar, in the first four months of this year, according to the Road Transport Administration Department (RTAD), today.

The figures recorded between Jan and Apr this year, were down compared to 791 deaths and 2,244 injuries in 1,491 traffic accidents reported in the same period of 2024, the RTAD’s figures showed.

During the four-month period this year, Yangon region reported the highest number of deaths from road accidents at 125, followed by Mandalay region with 86 deaths, and Ayeyarwady region with 85, the RTAD data showed.

In 2024, a total of 2,011 people were killed and 5,576 others injured, in road accidents across the country, official data showed.– NNN-MNA
