MOSCOW, May 31 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that Istanbul will host the second round of direct talks between Moscow and Kyiv, next June 2.
Lavrov also told reporters that Russia will present its ceasefire memorandum to the Ukrainian delegation in the Turkish city.
“Our delegation, led by Presidential Adviser Vladimir Medinsky, is ready to present this memorandum to the Ukrainian delegation and provide the necessary explanations next Monday, June 2, during the second round of direct talks resumed in Istanbul,” Lavrov stated.
The foreign minister emphasized that Moscow, “as agreed,” prepared the corresponding memorandum, which sets out its position on “all aspects to reliably overcome the root causes of the crisis.”
We hope that all those who are sincerely interested in the success of the peace process, and not just in words, will support the holding of a new round of direct Russian-Ukrainian talks, he stressed.
