NEW DELHI, May 29 (NNN-PTI) – India’s index of industrial production (IIP), registered a growth of 2.7 percent during Apr, this year, compared to the same month last year, according to official data, released by the federal Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, yesterday.
The IIP in Apr fell from three percent recorded in the previous month, the data showed.
The overall industrial growth was mainly driven by the growth of 3.4 percent in the manufacturing sector, followed by 1.1 percent in the electricity sector. The mining sector registered a negative growth of -0.2 percent in Apr.– NNN-PTI
