KABUL, May 25 (NNN-BNA) – The Afghan Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, launched 175 essential development projects, worth over 3.4 million U.S. dollars, in eastern Afghanistan’s Parwan province, the ministry said in a statement, late yesterday.
The projects, which include building bridges, culverts, protective walls, irrigation canals and rural roads, would be implemented in the Salang and Shinwari districts of the province, the statement indicated.
The projects are expected to provide job opportunities to hundreds of local residents, and the living conditions of thousands of people in the district have improved, it said.
As part of efforts to rebuild the war-devastated country, the ministry commenced work on 116 development projects, at a cost of nearly three million dollars in eastern Wardak province in Apr.
The Afghan interim government, since assuming power in Aug, 2021, has undertaken a range of development and infrastructure initiatives, aimed at easing economic hardships and generating employment opportunities for its citizens.– NNN-BNA
