KABUL, May 25 (NNN-BNA) – Afghan authorities have started constructing a 400-bed children’s specialised hospital, in western Afghanistan’s Herat province, it was reported yesterday.
The hospital is funded by a local businessman, in the provincial capital, Herat City, at a cost of five million U.S. dollars, to provide healthcare services to the children.
Afghanistan’s health sector has been badly affected by decades of wars, and the recent decision by the United States to halt humanitarian assistance to the post-war country.
The Afghan public health ministry has been calling upon the international community, to continue helping the Afghans in the health sector.– NNN-BNA
