Indonesia’s Broad Money Supply Grew 5.2 Percent In Apr

JAKARTA, May 23 (NNN-ANTARA) – Indonesia’s central bank reported that, broad money supply (M2), grew by 5.2 percent year-on-year, in Apr this year, reaching 9,390.0 trillion rupiah, down from 6.1 percent in the previous month.

“The expansion was mainly supported by a 6.0 percent increase in narrow money (M1) and a 2.4 percent rise in quasi-money,” said Ramdan Denny Prakoso, executive director of Bank Indonesia’s Communication Department, today.

M2 growth was also driven by an 8.5 percent increase in credit disbursements, and a 21.0 percent contraction in net claims on the central government.

Net foreign assets also grew by 3.6 percent in Apr this year, compared to 6.0 percent in Mar.– NNN-ANTARA
