Indonesia Aims To Become Global Energy Supplier: President

JAKARTA, May 22 (NNN-ANTARA) – Indonesian President, Prabowo Subianto, said that, the country is ready to become a major energy supplier for the world, given its vast untapped energy reserves and renewable potential.

Speaking at the opening of the 49th Indonesian Petroleum Association Convention and Exhibition in Tangerang yesterday, Prabowo emphasised Indonesia’s strategic position, to meet global energy demands.

“Our energy potential is enormous, from fossil fuels to renewables like geothermal, hydro, wind, and wave energy. We are optimistic that Indonesia will not only achieve energy self-sufficiency but also supply energy to the world,” he said.

The president noted that, Indonesia still holds dozens of unexplored oil and gas blocks, offering significant opportunities for domestic and foreign investors.

To accelerate development, he called for stronger collaboration between the government, private sector, and state-owned enterprises.

He also pledged to cut bureaucratic red tape, urging regulatory bodies to simplify licensing and investment procedures.

“I ask regulatory bodies to simplify regulations. We must create a business-friendly climate, for both local and international investors,” he noted.– NNN-ANTARA
