Floods Leave Four Dead, Three Injured In N. Vietnam

HANOI, May 19 (NNN-VNA) – Torrential rain and flooding, have left four people dead and three others injured, in northern Vietnam’s Bac Kan province, according to the latest update.

Two victims died in flash floods, while the other two were buried in landslides triggered by the heavy rains, said the report.

The severe weather has damaged hundreds of hectares of crops, and caused significant destruction to local infrastructure.

As of last night, heavy rainfall continued to batter the northern mountainous region.

Authorities have issued warnings about the high risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, as well as, landslides on steep slopes throughout the area.– NNN-VNA
