YANGON, May 17 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar authorities seized more than 9.7 million stimulant tablets and several kg of synthetic drugs in central Myanmar, state-owned daily, The Mirror, reported today.
Acting on a tip-off, anti-narcotics police carried out operations in Minhla and Pyinmana townships, in Magway region and Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory, from May 9 to 11, and confiscated the narcotics, the report said.
The seized narcotics included approximately 9.798 million stimulant tablets, 5 kg of ICE (methamphetamine), one kg of ketamine, and 2.915 kg of “happy water,” a synthetic drug, the report said.
Nine suspects in connection with the case have been arrested, and have been charged under the country’s laws. Further investigations are ongoing, it added.– NNN-MNA
