Fire, Smoke Seen After Two Huge Blasts In Pakistan’s Garrison City Rawalpindi

ISLAMABAD, May 10 (NNN-XINHUA) – Fire and smoke were seen near an airbase, after two huge blasts took place early today, in Pakistan’s garrison city of Rawalpindi, in eastern Punjab province, near the capital, Islamabad.

The people witnessed two blasts taking place, within a gap of minutes, followed by fire and huge smoke near an airbase in Rawalpindi.

Rescue teams, police and security forces rushed to the site. There is no report of casualties in the blasts, at the moment.

Security forces have cordoned off the area, and started an investigation into the explosions.

The nature of the blasts is not known yet.

An eyewitness said that, two drone-like projectiles came near the airbase, which were shot down by guns. However, there is no official word about it yet.– NNN-XINHUA
