Lao Gov’t Aims To Tackle Education Challenges

VIENTIANE, May 8 (NNN-KPL) – The Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, will continue implementing its strategic plans, to address key challenges, such as a shortage of teachers, and to improve the overall quality of education in Laos.

According to a report by the ministry yesterday, officials from both central and provincial levels, are instructed to fulfill their responsibilities with dedication, in order to address key challenges, such as, declining enrollment in teacher training, a shortage of teachers, and staffing gaps, and to help improve the education system.

The ministry will actively implement the 2025 annual plan and budget, evaluate progress on the 2021-2025 teacher education plan and the draft 2026-2030 plan, strengthen professional development for primary and secondary teachers, enhance strategies to align teacher training with local needs, and improve measures to attract more students to the teaching profession.

Additionally, the ministry called for stronger cooperation with local authorities, to address ongoing challenges.– NNN-KPL
