BISHKEK, Apr 24 (NNN-KNA) – Kyrgyz President, Sadyr Japarov, held talks with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, chairman of the People’s Council of Turkmenistan, yesterday, during his working visit to Kyrgyzstan in the resort town of Cholpon-Ata.
According to the press service of the Kyrgyz president, the two sides discussed a wide range of bilateral cooperation issues, including trade and economic ties, cultural and humanitarian relations, and regional initiatives.
Japarov emphasised the importance of Berdimuhamedov’s visit in strengthening the centuries-old friendship between the Kyrgyz and Turkmen peoples, and highlighted the steady and positive momentum in trade cooperation between the two countries.
Japarov also stressed the importance of implementing the project to establish the Kyrgyz-Turkmen Development Fund, noting, Kyrgyzstan’s existing experience in setting up similar bilateral development funds with Russia, Hungary, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan.
Berdimuhamedov expressed Turkmenistan’s readiness for in-depth and comprehensive cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. He underscored the Turkmen side’s commitment to active engagement across key sectors, including trade, gas, energy, transport, culture, and education.
In conclusion, Japarov expressed confidence that the talks would open new prospects for the Kyrgyz-Turkmen partnership.– NNN-KNA
