Three Lebanese Security Forces Killed In Armed Attacks

BEIRUT, Lebanon, June 4 (NNN-NNA) – Three members of Lebanon security forces were killed and a civilian was wounded, on Monday, in armed attacks in Lebanon’s northern city of Tripoli.

A security source said that, gunmen clashed with a patrol of the Lebanese Internal Security Forces, at the entrance to the city, which led to the fall of a security member, injury of another and the burning of one of their vehicles.

Another group of gunmen threw a sound bomb at government headquarters in Tripoli, wounding one civilian, the source added.

Another member of the Internal Security Forces died from injuries sustained in the attacks, bringing the death toll to two.

At the same time, the Lebanese Army announced the death of one of the military and injuring others in three attacks.

Abdel Rahman Mabsout fired, on Monday evening, at a branch of the Banque du Liban in the Tripoli area, and a centre of the internal security forces in Tripoli, in addition to a military vehicle, belonging to the Lebanese Army, resulting in the death of one of the military and injuring others, according to the statement.

The armed group had been besieged inside the two housing buildings, while the armed forces cordoned off a third building.

The army and the Internal Security Forces in the city, have been mobilised and begun a large-scale search, added the source.– NNN-NNA
