Tunisia’s foreign investments up 18 pct in Q1

TUNIS, May 10 (NNN-XINHUA) — The foreign investments in Tunisia reached 517.4 million Tunisian dinars in the first quarter of 2024, up by 18 percent compared to the same period last year, the Tunisian Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) announced.

Foreign direct investments (FDI) reached 516.8 million dinars during the period, registering an increase of 27.7 percent year-on-year, while the portfolio investments totaled 600,000 dinars, down by 98 percent.

By industry, FDI in the manufacturing sector reached 250.5 million dinars, followed by 176.9 million dinars in the energy sector, 84.5 million dinars in services, and 4.9 million dinars in the agricultural sector, according to FIPA. — NNN-XINHUA
