Indonesia Inaugurated Southeast Asia’s Largest Digital Test House

JAKARTA, May 8 (NNN-ANTARA) – Indonesian President, Joko Widodo, inaugurated Southeast Asia’s largest digital test house, a telecommunications equipment testing laboratory, worth 980 billion rupiah (around 61 million U.S. dollars) on an area of 22,723 square metres in West Java Province, yesterday.

“(This is) the largest and most comprehensive in Southeast Asia, and will be the leading digital device certification centre in the region,” Widodo said.

Apart from being a facility for testing and certifying digital device technology, the house will also serve as a centre to encourage innovation, strengthen the digital technology ecosystem with easy access to certification.

Widodo encouraged this house, with 12 giant laboratories, to become a research and development centre, in collaboration with universities and companies to compete on the international stage.– NNN-ANTARA
