Sri Lanka To Maintain Current Fee For 30-Day Single Entry Visa For Foreigners

COLOMBO, May 7 (NNN-XINHUA) – The Sri Lanka government, yesterday, decided to maintain the existing 50-U.S. dollar-fee, for a 30-day single entry visa, for foreigners visiting the country, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.

The PMD added that, the free visa service currently offered to citizens of India, China, Russia, Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia will also continue.

Sri Lanka recently revised its visa fees, and introduced several new categories that visitors eligible for on-arrival visas can apply for.

These revised fees were criticised by tourism stakeholders. Taking these concerns into account, President Ranil Wickremesinghe proposed to the Cabinet of Ministers yesterday, to keep the visa fee for a 30-day single entry visa at 50 dollars, PMD said.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved the president’s proposal, the PMD added.– NNN-XINHUA
