LIMA, April 23 (NNN-ANDINA) — Peruvian Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen ensured the Government’s support for the Armed Forces and the National Police, to continue the fight against terrorist criminals, who remain in the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (VRAEM) and seek to settle in other parts of the country.

These remarks were delivered during a ceremony marking the 27th anniversary of Chavin de Huantar Operation, Military Valor Day, and Democracy Defenders Day.

The event was led by the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte and took place at the replica of the residence of the Japanese Ambassador in Lima’s district of Chorrillos.

“They stood at the forefront to contain terrorism in the VRAEM area, and now they are doing the same in Putumayo and Caballococha,” he said.

“They are also present to confront the scourge of organized crime, which is taking over the country nowadays,” he added.

Likewise, Adrianzen reported that during his tenure at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM), the Government recognized the benefits of all those who took part in the military operation.

“Today we can say with satisfaction that they (the benefits) have been granted to those who deserved them,” he added.

Furthermore, Adrianzen stated that the fight against the terrorist remnants operating in the Valley of Apurimac, Ene, and Mantaro Rivers (VRAEM) is constant and will not stop until they are defeated.

“There are remnants in the VRAEM area. They are settled in Putumayo, in Caballococha. We will head off to confront them and defeat them. The fight in the VRAEM area is constant,” he said in statements to the press.

The Cabinet chief remarked that the recent Tukuy operation, carried out by law enforcement agencies in the VRAEM area, has yielded good results and helped gather valuable information about the work of narco-terrorists operating in said area and in their active cadres. — NNN-ANDINA
