Vietnam targets 44 billion USD of textiles, garments export in 2024

HANOI, Apr 4 (NNN-VNA) – Vietnam’s 44-billion-U.S. dollar-target, in textiles and garments export this year, is feasible to achieve, Vu Duc Giang, chairman of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association was cited as saying, yesterday.

The statement was made based on the fact that many retail corporations from Free Trade Agreement member countries such as Canada, Australia, Europe, have come to Vietnam to find supply chains with competitive prices.

He said, the recent increase in orders showed that, the textile industry has continuously recovered. However, facing potential market risks, businesses need to seek solutions to maintain growth and stabilise jobs for workers.

According to the association, global manufacturers, as well as, textile and garment supply chains, continue to choose Vietnam as a destination for manufacturing and placing orders.

Vietnam earned over 9.53 billion dollars from exporting textiles and garments in the first quarter of this year, up 9.62 percent year on year, according to the association.

The country ranks third in the world in terms of textiles and garments exports.– NNN-VNA
