Four Killed In Road Accident In West Java

JAKARTA, Mac 27 (NNN-ANTARA) – Four passengers were killed and eight others injured, after a pickup car crashed into a tree, in the Indonesian province of West Java on Monday, local police said yesterday.

The accident took place in Eretan Wetan village, in Indramayu regency, about 120 km away from Bandung, the provincial capital city, when the driver allegedly lost control and hit a tree, said Indramayu Police Chief, Fahri Siregar.

All victims have been evacuated to nearby hospitals, and initial investigation showed the accident was caused by drowsy driving.

Deadly road accidents are common in the country, due to overloading, poor road conditions and reckless driving.– NNN-ANTARA
