JAKARTA, Mac 26 (NNN-ANTARA) – Indonesian police foiled the smuggling of 31 kg of methamphetamine and 2,387 ecstasy pills, from seven suspects in Riau Province.

“Using a boat, they brought the drugs across the Malacca Strait to enter Indonesia,” said Director of the Riau Police’s Narcotics Directorate, Manang Soebeti, yesterday.

The drugs first entered Rupat Island and were planned to be distributed to Riau and its surroundings.

The police arrested the suspects when they brought the drugs to Dumai city in Riau province.

One of the suspects has a warehouse in Malaysia, specifically for storing drugs, added Soebeti.– NNN-ANTARA
