Turkish Police Detain 24 Suspected Daesh Members

ANKARA, Mac 24 (NNN-TRT) – Turkish police detained at least 24 suspected members of the Daesh group in anti-terror operations across Türkiye, the country’s Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya said, yesterday.

The operations, dubbed “Bozdogan-15,” were carried out in eight provinces across the country, Yerlikaya said on social media platform X, without specifying the dates of the operations.

The minister said, the operations were conducted in coordination with intelligence and counterterrorism directorates.

The Turkish government designated the Daesh as a terrorist organisation in 2013, and blamed it for a spate of deadly attacks in the country since 2015.

In Dec last year, Turkish intelligence and security forces captured a top Daesh terrorist in charge of the group’s finances, in an operation in Türkiye’s south-eastern province of Mersin.– NNN-TRT
