LIMA, March 6 (NNN-ANDINA) — Prime Minister Alberto Otarola on Tuesday evening announced that he tendered his resignation from office to Pres Dina Boluarte, with the aim of reshaping the Ministerial Cabinet and continuing to work for the least favored in Peru.

“I have informed about my resignation from office to give peace of mind to President Boluarte, so that she can reshape the Cabinet. There is a line of work that is left for the country,” he said.

In a statement, Otarola said that he puts himself at the service of the country.

Similarly, the outgoing Cabinet chief affirmed that he never acted inappropriately in office nor was he involved in corruption acts.

Otarola denied having intervened in the hiring of anyone at a Peruvian State entity, unlike what was indicated in an investigative TV news report broadcast last Sunday.

Remarks were made from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers’ headquarters in the Peruvian capital, Lima.

As is known, Alberto Otarola became Prime Minister on Dec 21, 2023. Previously, he served as Defense Minister, also in the current administration. — NNN-ANDINA
