Lao PM Orders Actions To Ensure Smooth Flow Of Logistic

VIENTIANE, Feb 29 (NNN-KPL) – Lao Prime Minister, Sonexay Siphandone, visited Thanaleng Dry Port in the Lao capital, Vientiane, and ordered stakeholders to work together, to streamline procedures, speed up logistics and transport systems, and cut costs to boost the flow of freight destined for delivery within Laos and to countries in the sub-region.

During the visit on Saturday, Lao Prime Minister, Sonexay issued the instruction, after learning that it was possible to implement cost-cutting measures and remove unnecessary steps, in the shipping process, to bolster competitiveness and speed up the transport of freight, according to the Lao Economic Daily report, yesterday.

Sonexay said, reducing logistics and transport costs is a common goal of the Lao government in efforts to increase competitiveness and convert Laos from a landlocked country to a land-linked.

Lao Prime Minister Sonexay told authorities in charge, to carry out proper inspections of all containers, in order to prevent the movement of prohibited or inappropriate goods.– NNN-KPL
