Nigerian troops kill 6 terror suspects in gunfight

ABUJA, June 11 (NNN-XINHUA) — Nigerian military said that at least six terror suspects were killed in a gunfight with troops in the country’s northern state of Kaduna.

A cache of arms and ammunition belonging to the suspects were also recovered during the gunfight on Friday, at Maidaro village in the Giwa local government area of Kaduna, said a statement by Musa Danmadami, the spokesman for the Nigerian military.

Danmadami said the troops had embarked on a covert operation to the suspected terrorists’ enclave at Maidaro village and made contact with the criminals.

With high firepower, the troops recorded success in the gunfight with the criminals, he added. — NNN-XINHUA
