Kenya-Spain sign pacts to strengthen bilateral ties

MADRID, April 28 (NNN-KBC) — Kenya’s Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Dr. Alfred Mutua is in Spain for bilateral talks to woo investors and tourists to Kenya.

He said he had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Spain’s minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation Jose Manuel Albares, that will see Kenyans trained Spanish language to enhance Spanish as a major language of study in Kenya, and open up opportunities for Kenyan youth abroad.

Mutua said they also discussed various partnerships which include funds for improving Kenya’s railway system and roads in particular an overpass at Junction Mall area along Ngong road.

They also reviewed trade partnerships and discussed how Kenyans can sell their products in Spain.

The CS said he also requested for scholarships for Kenyan students and agreed on an immediate exchange of diplomats to study in Spain and in Kenya. — NNN-KBC
