Homemade bomb blast in southern Philippines injures 8

MANILA, April 17 (NNN-XINHUA) — A homemade bomb ripped through a bus in southern Philippines on Monday and wounded at least eight people, a military spokesperson said.

Army Major Andrew Linao of the Western Mindanao Command said the bomb went off as the bus with an unspecified number of passengers rolled into the transport terminal around 12:20 p.m. local time in Isulan town in Sultan Kudarat province.

The injured victims, aged 13 to 60, were taken to a local hospital for treatment, Linao said, adding that no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. — NNN-XINHUA
