Kenya targets 10 million international arrivals within four years

NAIROBI, April 13 (NNN-KBC) — Kenya is targeting to attract 10 million visitors by the year 2027.

The country is aiming to tap new markets in East Asia, North America, and Africa to shore up the numbers.

The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) says the country is on target to attract more than 2 million visitors in 2023.

KTB Chair Francis Gichaba says the number of visitors continues to rise with 294,000 tourists arriving in the country between January and February this year compared to the 184,228 arrivals in a similar period in 2022.

The year 2019 remains one of the best for the tourism sector in Kenya when the country recorded 2.05 million arrivals before the sector was hammered by the Covid-19 pandemic. — NNN-KBC
