U.S. Has Lowest Life Expectancy Of All G7 Nations: Daily Mail

LONDON, Mar 18 (NNN-XINHUA) – The United States has the lowest life expectancy of all G7 nations (Group of Seven), British paper, Daily Mail, reported, citing findings published in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine.

Although the United States ranked 13th globally in life expectancy in the 1950s, it has since fallen to 53 on the global standings, as its progress has stalled, compared to other developed nations, it said.

Britain has also fared badly, dropping from the 10th to 36th in a UN list of 200 nations, it noted.

“The rankings show that the only G7 country to do worse than the UK is the U.S.,” it cited Lucinda Hiam of the University of Oxford, as saying.

“It has historically been an early sign of severe political and economic problems,” Hiam said.– NNN-XINHUA
