Chasing the AA group on Saturday near Mrauk U township, the security forces claimed a dead body of the AA with a grenade, an improvised explosive device and ammunition.

The AA attacked the regional military headquarters, as well as, security post-2 in Baungdote village, near Mrauk U township on Wednesday night, Myanmar’s traditional New Year Day.

Government forces vowed to continue security operation to ensure the rule of law in the areas.

Meanwhile, a two-month dusk-to-dawn curfew has been imposed on five more townships in the state, by local authorities, since April 2, following a series of attacks on the government forces by insurgents, which resulted in casualties and destruction of civilian houses.– NNN-MNA
