BANGKOK, April 20 (NNN-Bernama) – Thailand-Cambodia Friendship Bridge (Ban Nong Ian- Stung Bot) and rail link at Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province are two additional gateways to facilitate the flow of goods and people between the two countries, said Thailand Foreign Ministry.

It said the 620-metre Thailand-Cambodia Friendship Bridge between Ban Nong Ian in Sa Kaeo, Thailand and a border city in Cambodia’s Banteay Meanchey province would be the longest bridge for vehicles crossing Thailand and Cambodia.

“The bridge with a 170 million baht grant aid from Thailand is part of the project to upgrade the Ban Nong Ian – Stung Bot international point of entry.

“Construction is also underway for a connecting road on the Cambodian side and customs buildings in both countries. The overall project is expected to be completed in 2022,” it said in a statement.

The Foreign Ministry said Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-o-cha would co-preside with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen over the ceremony marking the completion of the Thailand-Cambodia Friendship Bridge (Ban Nong Ian-Stung Bot) in Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province, linking Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia on Monday.
