KHARTOUM, April 19 (NNN–XINHUA) — Sudan’s Transitional Military Council announced Thursday that Undersecretary of Sudanese Foreign Ministry Badr-Eddin Abdalla Mohamed Ahmed has been relieved from his post.

Quoting a statement by the military council, Xinhua reported that Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, head of the council, on Thursday issued a decision to dismiss Ahmed.

Sudan’s Transitional Military Council is tasked with running the country’s affairs following the ouster of former President Omar al-Bashir by the military on April 11.

The council has adopted a number of measures in response to the demands of protesters, who have staged protests since last December against price hikes of basic commodities.
