Sri Lanka Needs Coordinated Assistance Programme: International Financial Institutions

COLOMBO, Dec 7 (NNN-XINHUA) – Representatives of international financial institutions agreed that Sri Lanka needs a coordinated assistance programme, to come out of the current economic crisis, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said, in a statement, yesterday.

The agreement was reached, following a round-table discussion, held among representatives of the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and Sri Lankan President, Ranil Wickremesinghe, in Colombo yesterday, said the PMD.

According to the PMD, Wickremesinghe presented Sri Lanka’s programme for economic recovery and growth, along with the vision for long-term development.

Sri Lanka’s prime minister, Dinesh Gunawardena, several ministers and other senior officials also attended the round-table discussion.– NNN-XINHUA
