Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force Seized Over 3,000 Kg Drugs

ISLAMABAD, Dec 1 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), conducted 34 operations in different parts of the country over the last week, seizing 3,000.65 kg of drugs and 4,820 litres of prohibited chemicals, the ANF said.

During the counter-narcotics operations on Nov 21-27, the force arrested 32 people, including two women, while impounding 10 vehicles that were being used for smuggling, the ANF said, in a statement on Tuesday.

In south-western Balochistan province, the ANF recovered 2,583.99 kg of drugs, 3,795 litres of hydrochloric acid and 1,025 litres of acetic anhydride, in eight operations. It arrested two people involved in drug smuggling, while seizing two vehicles, the statement said.

The police force in eastern Punjab province recovered 168.28 kg of drugs, and seized three vehicles in eight operations, arresting 11 people, including a woman.

In north-west Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, it seized 242.02 kg drugs and five vehicles, and arrested 11 people in eight operations.

The ANF in southern Sindh province, confiscated 1.53 kg heroin, in a couple of operations, while arresting three people.

From the northern parts of the country, the ANF recovered 4.84 kg drugs in eight operations and arrested five people in drug smuggling, including a woman.

All the cases were registered, and further investigations have been underway, according to the statement.– NNN-APP
