Angola gives final touches to Africa-Caribbean-Pacific Summit

BRUSSELS, Nov 29 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — On Monday, Georges Chikoti, Secretary-General of the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS), discussed with Angolan Foreign Minister, Téte António, the preparations for the next summit of the bloc.    

The meeting took place in Brussels on the sidelines of the 115th session of the OACPS Council of Ministers, to which representatives of the 79 member countries attended,as stated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Chikoti and António talked about relevant aspects of an organizational and technical nature inherent to the 10th Summit of Heads of State and Government, scheduled for Dec 6-10 in Luanda, the source informed.

In recent statements to the press, Chitoki valued the efforts of the Angolan Executive to ensure a quality event, in terms of concerted efforts within ‘an international organization, which fights for the interests of 79 countries’.

According to him, the negotiations with the European Union (EU) established important financing commitments of the community entity for the next ten years: 500 million Euros for the Pacific, 800 million Euros for the Caribbean, and around 29 billion Euros for the African continent. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
