Hot Running Test Carried Out On Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Railway

JAKARTA, Nov 10 (NNN-ANTARA) – The hot-running test, of the catenary system of the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway (HSR), trial section, started yesterday, marked by the slow departure of the Electric Multiple Units, from the Tegalluar Station in Bandung.

The hot-running test is aimed to ensure that the railway’s power supply equipment has met the requirements needed, to conduct a series of joint tests later. This was the first time that the Electric Multiple Units, which arrived in Indonesia on Sept 1, appeared on the Jakarta-Bandung HSR track.

All functions of the traction power supply system were thoroughly tested, during the one-day test. The essential indicators and parameters have fully met the design criteria, laying a solid foundation for dynamic testing in the next step.

With a design speed of 350 km per hour, the Jakarta-Bandung HSR will cut the journey between Jakarta and Bandung, the capital of Indonesia’s West Java province, from over three hours to around 40 minutes.– NNN-ANTARA
