Dominican Republic burns more than 800 kilograms of drugs

SANTO DOMINGO, Sept 23 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — The Attorney General’s Office of the Dominican Republic reported that 819.98 kilograms of different drugs seized in recent operations were incinerated Thursday.

The narcotics were burned at the premises of the Army of the Dominican Republic, in the municipality of Pedro Brand, Santo Domingo province.

According to a press release from the Attorney General’s Office, the largest quantity of the drugs corresponds to cocaine, with 677.88 kilograms, for 82.67 percent, and marijuana, 141.35, equivalent to 17.24 percent.

Also incinerated were 468 grams of crack, 198 grams of methamphetamine, 56 grams of ecstasy and 20 grams of heroin.

The information specified that 10.02 kilograms of other substances were burned, whose analysis determined that they did not correspond to narcotics.

From last January to date, Dominican authorities have incinerated 28,905.5 kilograms of various drugs. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
