Brunei, S. Korea To Resume Direct Flights Soon: Envoy

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sept 23 (NNN-ANN) – South Korea and Brunei will resume direct flights between Bandar Seri Begawan and Incheon soon, said South Korean Ambassador to Brunei, Kim Soung-eun.

According to the local daily, Borneo Bulletin yesterday, the ambassador said that, before the pandemic, South Korea ranked fifth, in terms of the number of international tourist arrivals to Brunei.

“I expect a lot of Koreans will visit Brunei again,” he said, during the reception for South Korea’s National Foundation Day, held in the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan.

The ambassador also said, the diplomatic relationship between Brunei and South Korea has been friendly since the sultanate’s independence in 1984.

Brunei served as the coordinating country for South Korea, in the ASEAN mechanism for three years until Aug, 2021. “Brunei played its role very well in connecting Korea with ASEAN,” Kim said.– NNN-ANN
