Pakistani Minister Called On University Students To Support Flood-Affected Mothers, Children

ISLAMABAD, Sept 23 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives, Ahsan Iqbal, urged the country’s students to become community mobilisers and prepare food for children and mothers in flood-affected areas.

Iqbal made the appeal here, while addressing the conference on International Day of Peace, organised by Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission (HEC).

The minister said that, he had asked the HEC to set the target of two million nutrition packs supported by university students.

The food packs will be distributed among the flood-affected people, especially among mothers and children, in the next ten days through the National Disaster Management Authority, he added.

Iqbal further added that, one-third of the country has been submerged by floods, and reiterated that the government is making all efforts for the rehabilitation of the flood-affected areas.– NNN-APP
