Yemen, UAE Discussed Ways To Promote Bilateral Cooperation, Cease-Fire

SANAA, Sept 22 (NNN-YPA) – Yemen and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) discussed in New York, ways of promoting bilateral cooperation and the ongoing truce across Yemen, the national Yemen TV reported, yesterday.

Rashad Al-Alimi, chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, held a meeting with the UAE Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Alimi told the UAE diplomat that, the Yemeni government values the UAE’s continued support for the Yemeni people and briefed him on the latest developments of the national cease-fire that went into effect on Apr 2.

The Yemeni leader said, the Houthi rebels’ violations of the truce undermine regional and global efforts, aiming to bring peace and stability to Yemen.

For his part, the UAE minister affirmed his country’s support for the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government, in confronting common challenges.– NNN-YPA
