Tourism Malaysia holds truly Malaysia roadshows in Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkiye

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 15 (NNN-Bernama) — Tourism Malaysia via its overseas offices in Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Turkiye is organising Truly Malaysia roadshows to reconnect tourists to Malaysia.

Tourism Malaysia in a statement said the first roadshow held in Moscow would be followed by others in Tashkent, Almaty and Istanbul from Sept 12 to 20.

The roadshows provide a platform for both Malaysian sellers and local buyers to participate in business-to-business (B2B) sessions and product presentations to revive, reconnect and create new partnerships in enhancing opportunities to boost tourist arrivals in Malaysia.

“One of the biggest draws is Malaysia’s racial and cultural diversity, resulting in a mixed yet harmonious legacy that manifests itself in our festivals, architecture, clothing, language, cuisine and other aspects of daily life.

“While the past two years have been tremendously challenging for us, we are glad to share that Malaysia has surpassed its initial target of two million international tourist arrivals since the reopening of our international borders,” said the acting Deputy Director-General (Planning) of Tourism Malaysia, Iskandar Mirza Mohd Yusof during the first session in Moscow, according to the statement.

He said Tourism Malaysia had revised its target of welcoming 9.2 million international tourist arrivals with RM26.8 billion (US$5.9 billion) in tourism receipts for this year.

According to the statement, Malaysia has relaxed the entry procedures for fully-vaccinated travellers without the requirements to undergo quarantine or pre-departure and on-arrival COVID-19 tests, as well as no travel insurance needed as a prerequisite for foreigners entering Malaysia.
