Malaysia Reported 2,067 New COVID-19 Cases, Six New Deaths

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 7 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Malaysia recorded 2,067 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight, bringing the total tally to 4,795,009, according to the Health Ministry.

The newly reported infections included four imported cases and 2,063 local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

Another six deaths have been reported from the pandemic, taking the death toll to 36,255.

The ministry reported 2,279 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 4,731,426.

Currently, there are 27,328 active cases in Malaysia, with 69 being held in intensive care and 40 of those in need of assisted breathing.

The country reported 2,687 COVID-19 vaccine doses administered yesterday, and 86 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 84.2 percent are fully vaccinated, 49.7 percent have received the first booster dose, and 1.5 percent have received the second booster dose.– NNN-BERNAMA
