Unarmed Palestinian Man Killed By Israeli Soldiers In West Bank: Health Ministry

RAMALLAH, Aug 20 (NNN-WAFA) – A Palestinian man was killed yesterday by Israeli soldiers, in the West Bank city of Tubas, the Palestinian health ministry said.

The Palestinian health ministry identified the man as 58-year-old Salah Tawfiq Sawafta, and said, he succumbed to his wounds after he was shot in the head.

Salah Sawafta, 58, died from critical injuries after being shot in the head by Israeli soldiers, the ministry said in a press statement.

According to reports by local media outlets, Sawafta was returning home from dawn prayers at the mosque, near his home when he was shot.

A video taken at the time of the shooting showed Sawafta, unarmed, attempting to entre a store before being shot.

Israeli forces had raided Tubas at dawn yesterday. Another Palestinian man sustained injuries to his leg from live ammunition.

According to the Palestinian health ministry, the Israeli army has killed 80 Palestinians across the West Bank since Jan.– NNN-WAFA
