One Killed, 10 Injured As Building Collapsed In Pakistan’s Karachi

ISLAMABAD, Aug 17 (NNN-APP) – At least one person was killed and 10 others injured, after a building collapsed late Monday night, in Pakistan’s southern port city of Karachi, rescue workers told media yesterday.

According to the reports, an under-construction four-story building collapsed, in the Sarjani town area of the city, resulting in 11 people trapped beneath its debris and suffered injuries.

The police and rescue teams reached the site and started the rescue operation using equipment to remove the debris, local media reported.

All the trapped victims were recovered, following the rescue operation and shifted to a hospital, where a 27-year-old succumbed to his injuries during treatment, it added.

Most of the victims, including the deceased, were labourers constructing the ill-fated building, according to local media.– NNN-APP
