Malaysia Reports 1,128 New COVID-19 Infections, Nine New Deaths

KUALA LUMPUR, Jun 8 (NNN-BERNAMA) – Malaysia reported 1,128 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight, bringing the national total to 4,517,447, according to the health ministry.

There is one new imported case, with 1,127 being local transmissions, data released on the ministry’s website showed.

Nine more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 35,699.

The ministry reported 1,547 new recoveries, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 4,460,546.

There are 21,202 active cases, with 25 being held in intensive care and 12 of those in need of assisted breathing.

The country reported 5,781 vaccine doses administered yesterday, and 85.8 percent of the population have received at least one dose, 83 percent are fully vaccinated and 49.3 percent have received boosters.– NNN-BERNAMA
